INTRODUCTION

The History and Memories of Freestone 1827 - 1988 was a bi-centennial project for the Freestone State School Parents’ and Citizens Association.

The supplement edition 1989 - 1995 has been collated for publication to mark the 125th Jubilee held on 5th August 1995.

A committee was formed from those present at the Inaugural Meeting held on 1st August 1994 to plan the Jubilee celebrations.

Those present were Karen Christensen, Father Kevin Noble, Barb Mauch, Pam Coy, Sue Keong, Karen Gillespie, Fay Beetham, Jean Palmer, Sybil Bourke, Olwyn Mauch, Cheryl Ruhle, Clayton Hansen and Bev Christensen.

Thanks must go especially to Imelda Ivey, Elva Gillespie, Alice Gillespie, Mabel Mauch, Noela Morrison and Eileen Mauch for visiting the school to help with pupil identification.
